SHANGHAI – SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) today launched its first all-electric SUV in China. The fun new Baojun Yep EV adopts Square Box styling, distinct dash-shaped headlights and the industry’s first Car-watch on its tailgate. The Joy Box interior comes with the advanced Lingxi intelligent system to meet the needs and preferences of younger consumers.
The compact rear-wheel-drive Yep EV has an electric driving range of 303 km under CLTC conditions. It comes standard with a PM2.5 air filter and a rich array of safety features that include Electronic Stability Control (ESC). It is also the first model emblazoned with Baojun’s new logo, which was announced on May 9.
Two Yep EV variants, which are available in a choice of five dazzling exterior colors, are priced at RMB 79,800 and RMB 89,800.
Baojun was founded in 2010 by SGMW. The sibling brand of Wuling has sold nearly five million units worldwide. Baojun is now focused on offering exciting and innovative electrified products. A third model will soon join the Yep EV and popular KiWi EV in the refreshed brand portfolio.
