Wuling Unveils Sunshine EV

2024-12-27

SAIC-GM-Wuling today took the wraps off the Wuling Sunshine EV, adding another electrified model to its Red Label commercial lineup.

The Sunshine EV comes equipped with features such as flat folding seats, the external discharge function, and 20 expandable areas to cater to the diverse needs of users.

For 21 years, the Wuling Sunshine family has helped over 5.3 million customers achieve their personal and professional goals. Recognized by Forbes magazine as "the most important car on earth" in 2010, the Sunshine continues to uphold industry-leading standards.

The Sunshine EV has an exquisite body, with a length of 3,685 millimeters, width of 1,530 millimeters, height of 1,765 millimeters, and wheelbase of 2,600 millimeters. Its compact size enables efficient navigation on congested urban roads and narrow small-town streets.

The vehicle adopts a block-stacking design. Its square shape enhances interior space efficiency. The front passenger and rear seats can be folded flat, allowing cargo capacity to be expanded from 527 liters to up to 1,117 liters. On the roof is a luggage rack that provides another 2.4 square meters of cargo-carrying space.

The double-side sliding door design, with a width of 595 millimeters, facilitates easy access for both cargo and passengers. The square rear tailgate, with a size exceeding 1 square meter, has an opening angle close to 90 degrees. The tailgate threshold height is only 569 millimeters, putting it at knee level and minimizing the effort required for loading and unloading items.

The Sunshine EV comes with 20 M6 standard threaded mounting holes along with 14 mounting holes in back to allow the installation of various accessories, such as storage compartments and placement racks. Up front are an array of multifunctional folding tables, cup holders, mobile phone holders, and other devices tailored for different usage scenarios.

The drag coefficient has been reduced through the optimization of nine specific attributes, including the front windshield inclination angle, front fascia, and rear low wind-resistance design. These improvements lower energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency. During testing, the Sunshine EV demonstrated combined power consumption of only 10.1 kWh per 100 kilometers.

The Sunshine EV is also equipped with the external discharge feature. The front slow-charging port supports 220 volts of AC external discharge, delivering up to 3.3 kilowatts of power. This is sufficient to meet daily high-power electricity demand.

In addition, the front and rear compartments contain 12-volt DC power interfaces, providing maximum discharge power of 120 watts to allow the use of low-power electrical devices such as car refrigerators and ambient lights. These external discharge settings also alleviate concern about power supply, ensuring the "mobile shop" remains charged at all times.

The Wuling Red Label adheres to the principle of "continuous improvement and creating opportunities." Models wearing the badge are designed to meet the increasing demand for versatile tools for a variety of business activities – from mobile sales to broadcasting to agriculture.
