SHANGHAI – Buick today officially open pre-sale for the ELECTRA L7 battery electric vehicle in China, expanding Buick’s premium ELECTRA new energy vehicle lineup with a fully electric flagship offering alongside the ELECTRA L7 extended-range model launched last year.
The all-electric ELECTRA L7 is tailored for couples and young families who want a fully loaded sedan that combines long range, ultra-fast charging, intelligent technology with a refined, comfortable driving experience.
The ELECTRA L7 BEV will be offered in three variants – the 702 Luxury, 702 Luxury Plus and 702 Avenir – with pre-sale pricing starting from RMB 169,900 to RMB 206,900 after national subsidies. Customers who place a pre-sale order will be eligible for a dedicated package of launch benefits before August 21.
New Exterior Body Color for Every Occasion
The ELECTRA L7 BEV retains the elegant fastback proportions and distinctive design cues of the extended-range model while offering new exterior colors and trims that emphasize its electric identity. Two fresh exterior body colors have been introduced: a deep green tone with warm metallic highlights and a low-saturation pink-purple. Both are matched with carefully curated interior themes that balance warmth and sophistication through color, materials and ambient lighting.
High-Voltage Architecture with Everyday Usability
All trims come standard with an 800-volt high-voltage architecture paired with an 80.6-kWh battery pack supplied by CATL. The ELECTRA L7 electric sedan delivers a CLTC range of up to 702 kilometers, giving most users the ability to follow a “charge once a week” pattern for daily commuting without detours for charging.
Thanks to 6C ultra-fast charging, the vehicle can add up to approximately 450 kilometers of range in around 10 minutes under suitable conditions, helping to reduce charging anxiety on longer trips or busy workdays. The rear-mounted electric motor produces up to 282 kW and a maximum 382 Nm of torque, enabling 0 - 100 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds under Boost mode while maintaining confident passing performance even at low state of charge. The vehicle’s 6kW V2L external power supply can support multiple outdoor appliances at once, from an electric oven and coffee machine to a projector, making camping, outdoor dining and open-air movie nights more effortless.
The ELECTRA L7 BEV debuts a 55°C temperature-controlled ultra-fast charging technology. Leveraging GM’s advanced battery safety management expertise, the peak cell temperature is kept below 55°C throughout the fast-charging process – well below the 65°C national limit – helping support low battery degradation across up to 800,000 kilometers of use while reducing customers’ concerns about premature battery aging.
Wellness-Focused “Floating De-Stress Cabin”
Inside, the ELECTRA L7 BEV features a “floating de-stress cabin” concept that extends comfort beyond seat specifications to the entire journey. A wellness-focused environment combines low noise levels, clean and fresh air, and finely controlled temperature and humidity. The 6mm laminated glass and extensive sound insulation help create a quiet space for conversation or music. An automatic PM2.5 filtration system and intelligent CO₂ management brings fresh air into the cabin, while multi-zone climate control with automatic dehumidification maintains a pleasant, natural-feeling cabin climate across different seasons.
All main seats incorporate floating de-stress designs with electric lumbar support, ventilation, heating and massage. The front passenger seat offers a dual 120-degree zero-gravity lounge function, allowing occupants to recline at the touch of a button to relieve pressure after a busy day. A segment-leading large PDLC smart panoramic roof, a premium audio system with 27 speakers, including headrest speakers, and an in-cabin fragrance system further enhance the sense of occasion for everyday drives.
Advanced Chassis Technology for Refined Comfort
Ride comfort is supported by technologies typically associated with higher luxury segments. All models are equipped with RTD continuous damping control suspension, while higher trims feature a preview “magic carpet” chassis that uses road-scanning technology to detect upcoming bumps and adjust damping in advance. The system can make hundreds of damping adjustments per second to help smooth out manhole covers, speed bumps and other irregularities. This contributes to a composed, confident driving experience for the person behind the wheel and a stable, comfortable ride for all passengers.
Enhanced Safety Engineered Beyond Standards
The battery and vehicle safety of Electra L7 electric model have been engineered to exceed China’s latest standards. The battery pack features an enhanced structure with five-layer underbody protection to help shield cells from impacts below. The vehicle underwent more stringent battery testing and validation beyond national requirements. A cage-type passenger safety cell design, high proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum, and extended side curtain airbags help protect front and rear occupants. During development, the vehicle completed 77 crash tests, including pole impact, offset collision and truck under-ride scenarios, to validate performance across real-world conditions.
