SHANGHAI – Cadillac today officially launched the all-new XT5 PHEV. Purpose-built for the Chinese market, the intelligent luxury PHEV SUV combines Cadillac’s uncompromised all-road capability with industry-leading driver-assistance technologies, offering a compelling new choice in China’s luxury SUV segment.

Build on four generations of the popular gasoline-powered XT5, the all-new XT5 PHEV carries forward the brand’s iconic design and performance heritage while integrating cutting-edge technologies, including a long-range, high-performance PHEV system, the Momenta R7 World Model, an advanced electric chassis, an AI-powered luxury cockpit along with leading safety and quality standards.

The vehicle will be available with two variants with the MSRP price of RMB279,900 (US$39,986) and RMB 299,900. The launch price with trade-in subsidy and special incentives on the lower trim will be RMB 259,900.  

Top-tier driver assisted technology for complex road conditions

The XT5 PHEV is the first production vehicle to feature Momenta’s R7 World Model, delivered at launch with no OTA upgrade required. It is supported by a suite of state-of-the-art hardware including an advanced roof-mounted LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic radar and high-definition cameras.

The R7 World Model is designed to interpret the movement and interaction of surrounding road users, helping calculate an appropriate speed, driving path and avoidance strategies across complex scenarios in real time, allowing XT5 PHEV to offer a best-in-class assisted-driving experience with smooth and precise vehicle control.

The XT5 PHEV also supports map-free navigation and special lane recognition for ETC tollgates. Its segment-leading automated parking assistance supports one-touch valet parking in and out, narrow mechanical space parking assist, an exceptional 150-meter reverse-assist capability, and more than 200 memory parking routes, even in multi-level garages.

All-road plug-in hybrid powertrain system

Powered by a locally developed hybrid powertrain system, the all-new XT5 PHEV is engineered to deliver a refined, confident and consistent driving experience across everyday journeys and a wide range of all-road scenarios.

With an all-electric driving range of more than 200 kilometers, the XT5 PHEV’s combined driving range reaches 1,360 kilometers, supporting both daily commute and long-distance trips.  Even with a depleted battery, the vehicle can climb 30% gradients and sustain 30 minutes of continuous high-altitude ascent.

The all-new PHEV system combines a high-performance lithium battery, a dual motor all-wheel-drive system with a 2-speed DHT hybrid transmission, allowing the SUV to deliver the best-in-class 4.8 second 0 - 100 km/h acceleration* with a full battery and 5.4 seconds with a depleted battery state.

The XT5 PHEV also pairs performance with long-distance efficiency. It delivers a combined fuel consumption of 0.62 liters per 100 kilometers, while fuel consumption in a depleted battery state is 6.05 liters per 100 kilometers, setting a new benchmark in its segment.

In addition, the vehicle supports 5C fast charging, replenishing from 30 to 80 percent in 15 minutes. Its 6-kilowatt vehicle-to-load capability can simultaneously power multiple high-output devices, including an electric grill, hot pot, projector, coffee maker and lighting.

A smart cabin designed around everyday use

The all-new XT5 PHEV further elevates the luxury cockpit experience with a suite of newly upgraded intelligent features designed around everyday convenience, family travel and rich in-vehicle connectivity. That includes:

• Five-view Sentry Mode can be monitored remotely through a smartphone, while an in-cabin OMS camera helps occupants check the vehicle’s interior environment.
• A dual-sided cooling and heating refrigerator offers an operating range of –6°C to 50°C and can rapidly make ice in 15 minutes with segment-exclusive silver-ion antibacterial functionality.
• Cadillac exclusive three-level adjustable fragrance system and two 50-watt wireless charging pads further enhance in-cabin comfort and convenience.
• A redesigned center armrest and flat rear floor create a more open and comfortable space for all occupants.

In addition, XT5 PHEV is the only vehicle in its class to feature Doubao AI, powered by ByteDance’s large model.  Designed to go beyond conventional voice assistant, Doubai AI provides deep contextual understanding and independent voice recognition across four cabin zones. This allows every occupant to intuitively access navigation, media, climate control, vehicle information and travel assistance through personalized voice commands, creating a more seamless and effortless journey.

Advanced electric chassis for confident control

A capable all-road hybrid SUV must do more than perform on smooth city streets. The all-new XT5 PHEV’s electric Hummingbird chassis is updated with second-generation RTD continuous suspension damping control, which scans the road surface up to 500 times per second and works with the ADAS system to adjust damping in advance. It can also identify speed bumps and manhole covers up to 20 meters ahead.

Complementing this capability are the standard electric all-wheel drive, CST comfort braking and segment-exclusive Brembo six-piston brake calipers. Together, these technologies provide customers with a more comfortable, composed and reassuring drive across a wider range of road conditions - whether navigating daily commutes, uneven surfaces or challenging terrain.

Modern American Luxury, Reimagined for China

The all-new XT5 PHEV also introduces refreshed exterior design details that underscore its modern luxury character. Body-colored front and rear bumpers, side skirts and mirrors, together with hidden exhaust outlets, create a cleaner and more refined appearance. A newly illuminated grille, paired with an animated illuminated Cadillac crest, further enhances the vehicle’s electrified presence and distinctive premium identity. 

In addition, the XT5 PHEV adds two new exterior colors and two new interior themes, reinforcing its modern American luxury character tailored for China.
