SHANGHAI – Buick’s all-new Envision Plus midsize SUV and Verano Pro premium family sedan made their global debut this evening at 2021 Buick Brand Day in Shanghai. Both models will be appearing on the Buick stand at Auto Shanghai 2021, which begins tomorrow.

Integrating global resources and local expertise, the two vehicles advance Buick’s enduring legacy of sculptural beauty, safety, quietness and intelligence. They feature the brand’s newest design language and a suite of advanced technologies, fulfilling the diverse and personalized preferences of customers.

The Envision Plus, unveiled in the Avenir trim that highlights Buick’s attainable luxury, offers segment-leading spaciousness and features the industry-leading Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP), GM’s innovative electrical architecture that will enable future connectivity and intelligent driving features.

The Verano Pro, including its sporty GS variant, is likewise strongly contented for an enhanced connected and refined driving experience. It is supported by a segment-exclusive dual 10.25-inch integrated instrument panel and central control display as well as an all-new 1.5T four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged engine.

During this evening’s event, Buick officially launched its certified used-vehicle brand and introduced the upgraded Buick app, elevating the entire customer service experience to be more convenient and efficient. It is also part of the brand’s 2025 growth strategy, which is focused on comprehensive product upgrades and the expanded deployment of advanced technology such as VIP technology and the upcoming state-of-the-art Ultium platform, to enable Buick to provide future mobility solutions that are greener, better and smarter.

“Tonight, from exciting new products to cutting-edge technology and elevated customer service, Buick showed an unmatched strength and reinforced focus on its continued growth in China through our Intelligence Drives to the Future strategy,” said Molly Peck, executive director of Buick Sales and Marketing at SAIC-GM.

“As we move forward on our brand journey in our third decade in China, we will never stop building the brand, driving for excellence and providing innovation and technology that keep Buick modern, progressive and relevant to our customers today and for tomorrow.”

Envision Plus Midsize SUV

The all-new Envision Plus will strengthen Buick’s presence in the popular midsize SUV segment with its distinctive styling, superior spaciousness and premium appointments tailored especially for family users in China.

As a dramatic and expressive interpretation of Buick’s modern sculptural design, the Envision Plus has an elegant exterior. Its spacious interior is courtesy of its length of 4,845 millimeters, width of 1,883 millimeters, height of 1,695 millimeters and segment-leading wheelbase of 2,833 millimeters.

The Envision Plus has a sleek look with refined proportions. Its sculptural front end is designed to offer a wide, linear appearance. Chrome décor moldings in front that repeat those in back and a chrome-plated exhaust complement the flowing surfaces, for a premium and upscale look.

The Envision Plus Avenir trim, unveiled this evening, incorporates signature design features with attention to details. It includes an exclusive Avenir mesh grille, 20-inch aluminum wheels, full LED headlamps with Matrix Pixel technology, and exclusive Avenir taillamps with clear lenses that showcase the jeweled design inside.

The Envision Plus is the latest Buick model that adopts the industry-leading VIP electrical architecture, which has strong data processing capability, strengthened over-the-air (OTA) upgrade functionality and enhanced cybersecurity protection. Thanks to the VIP technology, the Envision Plus is enabled with greater technology integration, supporting the latest Buick eConnect 3.0 connectivity system and a wide range of safety and intelligent driver assist technologies, including high beam assist, pedestrian detection, automatic parking assist and enhanced adaptive cruise control.

Powering the Envision Plus is GM’s eighth-generation Ecotec 2.0T variable turbocharged engine and a nine-speed Hydra-Matic intelligent automatic transmission, matched with the standard 48V mild hybrid system. The propulsion combination offers a smooth and comfortable driving experience while enhancing fuel efficiency.

Verano Pro Premium Family Sedan

Developed on GM’s global vehicle platform, the Verano Pro builds on Buick’s DNA of sculptural beauty with a more youthful and dynamic appearance to resonate with the younger generation in China. The airplane-inspired face features chrome bars on the grille that extend horizontally from the Buick badge to the LED daytime running lights, creating a sense of stability and visually maximizing the width.

The all-new Verano Pro GS trim is both trendy and sporty. The exclusive GS design package includes a large darkened honeycomb-shaped grille, a black roof, exclusive side skirts and rear wing-like features. It is available in three exclusive body colors. Its gray rear mirror covers, window trim and double-spoke wheels add to the sense of power and motion.

The Verano Pro GS also offers a great degree of customization. Owners will be able to tailor their vehicles through replaceable front and rear bumpers, side panels and rear wing components, providing additional DIY fun and more personalized styling.

The immersive interior of the Verano Pro is centered around its full color cluster and center IP with an integrated dual 10.25-inch screen that supports multi-screen interaction, including with users’ mobile phones. The latest Buick eConnect 3.0 connectivity system supports massive media content, advanced navigation, OnStar real-time assist and enhanced voice recognition technology that offers more natural and user-friendly interaction than ever before.
