SHANGHAI – Wuling has launched the Asta, its new strategic SUV featuring the brand’s global silver badge. It is characterized by a stylish exterior, roomy interior and powerful engine that will appeal to China’s new generation of SUV buyers.
The Asta has a “dynamic wing” front design with a trapezoidal grille and boomerang-shaped LED headlights. The front end is complemented by smooth lines down the side and a slightly sloping roof to benefit those riding in back.
The contemporary minimalist two-tone cabin is brightened by a 1,002-millimeter x 800-millimeter extra-large panoramic sunroof. A 10.25-inch “floating” display in the center console gives the Asta a high-tech feel.
Its length of 4,594 millimeters, width of 1,820 millimeters, height of 1,740 millimeters and wheelbase of 2,750 millimeters ensure a roomy interior. People of different heights in each of the five seats will enjoy a comfortable ride.
Cargo space was also a priority of the Asta design team. The rear seats can be folded flat to maximize capacity. Users can easily load and unload items.
The SUV comes with a 1.5L turbocharged engine matched with a continuously variable transmission. It goes from 0-100 km/h in 10.6 seconds.
Six front and side curtain air bags protect the driver and passengers. Safety is further enhanced through the liberal use of high-strength steel and thermoformed parts. A PM2.5 air filter and negative ion generator block dust, viruses and bacteria to create a healthy environment.
Five variants of the Asta are available priced between RMB 69,800 and RMB 99,800.
