SHANGHAI – Buick today launched the new-generation LaCROSSE in China to further elevate the brand’s premium sedan lineup. The flagship sedan adopts Buick’s all-new design language, the latest-generation Virtual Cockpit System, and a suite of intelligent driver-assist technologies tailored for affluent and trendsetting customers.

“The LaCROSSE has been a mainstay in Buick’s portfolio since its launch, recognized for its sculptural design, modern interior and thoughtful personal technologies,” said Cesar Toledo, general director of Buick Sales and Marketing at SAIC-GM.

“While maintaining its iconic reputation, the new-generation LaCROSSE has been upgraded with a more expressive look, superior comfort, and innovative technology for a more connected and intelligent user experience. It will redefine the premium sedan segment, providing customers more of what they want.”

The new-generation LaCROSSE is available in four variants, including the Avenir trim, the highest expression of Buick luxury, for a distinct persona. It is priced between RMB 179,900 and RMB 239,900.

Elegant styling with modern aesthetics

Inspired by Buick’s PURE Design philosophy, the new-generation LaCROSSE has a sleeker, more dynamic appearance featuring an expressive silhouette and sculptural surfacing that breathes new life into the nameplate’s aesthetics.

The head-turning new face of Buick is more dramatic, with the new body-mounted Buick badge, a large intricate grille and a refreshed spread-wing LED headlamp signature.

The new-generation LaCROSSE has a long wheelbase of 2,905 mm, allowing expressive proportions, while the fastback design improves agility and aerodynamics. In back, the all-new eye-catching connected taillamp design enhances its powerful stance and provides a unique visual identity.

The new-generation LaCROSSE Avenir has an even more upscale look, with exclusive detailing that includes a refined grille design featuring sophisticated chrome accents, Matrix adaptive headlights and an expressive blue exterior color. When a customer with iKey phone access approaches, the dramatic choreographed lighting animation, and illuminated door handles and sill plates, will be automatically activated to deliver a more prestigious feeling.

Exquisite interior with premium technology

Inside the cabin, the new-generation LaCROSSE provides spacious comfort that seamlessly integrates premium technology with exceptional craftsmanship.

The yacht-style floating center console is the centerpiece of the wraparound interior, creating an airy feeling and allowing maximum spaciousness for occupants. The interior uses premium materials and is meticulously crafted, characterized by brushed chrome accents, diamond-like control buttons, unique quilting, and precision perforations on the premium leather, in addition to the 121-color ambient lighting.

Avenir-exclusive interior details include dynamic LED backlit trim applied on both the doors and the center console, and the new blue and white dual-color theme, which adds to the sense of purity and the premium feeling.

Enhanced connectivity with premium comfort

The all-new Virtual Cockpit System comes standard on the new-generation LaCROSSE. Its stunning, large EYEMAX 30-inch curved 6K screen supports an immersive visual experience.

The latest Buick intelligent connectivity system provides rich multimedia content. The optimized voice command system allows the personalized setting of controls, with up to 37 vehicle features that include navigation, music, air-conditioning and seat adjustment through a single custom voice message. Together with the split screen display and multiple gesture control functions, the tech-forward system enhances how the customer interacts with the vehicle and ensures convenience and seamless human-machine interaction.

With redesigned ergonomically friendly seats that incorporate heating, ventilation and massage functions, Buick’s signature QuietTuning technology and standard Active Noise Cancellation technology, the premium comfort of the new-generation LaCROSSE has been taken to the next level.

The Bose immersive surround audio system with 11 speakers and a digital cabin purifying system are available on the Avenir variant for additional comfort.

Spirited performance with enhanced safety

The new-generation LaCROSSE is powered by the eighth-generation Ecotec 2.0T turbocharged engine, paired with a 48V mild hybrid system and nine-speed Hydra-Matic intelligent transmission. It delivers maximum output of 174 kW and maximum torque of 350 Nm, with fuel consumption as low as 6.59 liters per 100 km under WLTC test conditions.

The intelligent propulsion technology enables strong power, and smooth and quick gear shifting, while multiple driving modes add to the fun driving experience. Additional 1.5T engine options will be available, with deliveries beginning in the third quarter of this year.

The new-generation LaCROSSE has been designed and engineered to meet the highest C-NCAP five-star safety standard. It includes an enhanced structural design and the adoption of ultra high-strength steel.

Fourteen safety and driver assistance technologies are available on the new-generation LaCROSSE, including Full-Speed Range Adaptive Cruise Control and Hands-On Lane Centering Assist, to reduce driving fatigue. Automated Parking Assist on the Avenir variant supports an intelligent parking experience without the driver having to control the steering wheel, accelerator or brakes.
