Shanghai – Buick today officially launched the all-new GL8 with an internal combustion engine. It is available in three seven-seat variants priced from RMB 269,900 to RMB 339,900.
The sixth-generation GL8 has been comprehensively upgraded and refined. It inherits Buick's expertise in the MPV segment, setting the "gold standard" for design, comfort, quality, intelligence, and safety.
The all-new GL8 has a length of 5,219 mm, width of 1,878 mm, height of 1,807 mm, and wheelbase of 3,088 mm, giving it a spacious interior with comfortable seating and ample storage space. At the same time, it can conveniently navigate narrow roads and underground parking in urban areas.
The exterior styling follows Buick's Pure Design philosophy, integrating the essence of Asian landscapes, modern aesthetics, and digital technology. It has a majestic yet understated demeanor.
The interior adopts a new technological luxury design style. The upgraded GL8 integrates high-end environmentally friendly materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and innovative technological functions to create a high-quality space for journeys short or long. The interior contact areas are extensively covered in high-grade soft materials such as class-only Nappa leather. The innovative Smart Touch light-sensing control panel has seat memory and other function buttons housed in a brushed metal texture panel. The third row has also been upgraded with power adjustable seats.
The all-new GL8 is equipped with the latest-generation VCS intelligent cockpit, featuring a segment-leading EYEMAX 30-inch integrated curved 6K screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, 5G communication technology, and AI voice assistant. It provides an immersive sensory experience along with precise, smooth interactive operation, while supporting over-the-air upgrades. The elegance is boosted by a 15.6-inch rear cabin smart screen and a 12-speaker Bose sound system with Centerpoint technology. It enables a variety of multimedia functions. Class-only 5-mm double-glazed glass ensures the all-new GL8’s quiet ambience and premium-level NVH performance.
The all-new GL8 is powered by a 2.0T turbocharged engine and a 9-speed transmission. Its strong performance and fuel efficiency are heightened by a 48V mild hybrid system. The model’s luxury MPV-specific chassis has been extensively tested for optimal performance on various road conditions in China to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride.
A ten-horizontal and six-vertical cage body structure, and the extensive use of high-strength steel, makes the all-new GL8 a safety leader. Front and rear integrated side safety curtains are designed to reduce injuries to passengers in the event of a collision.
